Update, Somewhat Important Question

Time to update...I guess. ;)

Not much going on........and that's about it. :)

Except that I have a question for anyone who knows much more about technology than myself, and/or whoever wants to answer. Or perhaps, if you have come across this issue before.

To anyone who has ever bought the Rockband drums, I ask for your advice here.

The issue that alot of people seem to be having with the yellow drum pad, I seem to be having with the blue pad: The drums worked fine the last time I used them, which was a couple of weeks ago. Plugged them in this morning for a bit of fun, when the blue one was not responding unless it was hit exceedingly hard. When playing normally, I don't hit the pads very hard, but today to get it to even slighty respond was for me to go out of my way for how hard it had to be hit. I got one of my friends to take a look at it, by that point it stopped responding completely, no matter how hard we hit, couldn't get anything out of it.

Now I still intend on getting one of my friends who is a bit of a techie to take a look, to me it seems like the sensor is dead or a wire; however he would at least know better than me how to contend with it, or at least have advice for me.

The set is one of the EL ones, the other pads, pedal work fine; a lot of the things I found online was "buy a new one"; well, we don't all have $80 to throw away just cause a sensor went dead. This was preceded by a call to EA services, of which the warranty doesn't cover that issue....or hopefully she was refering to the point that it was beyond the two month period.

My point is I'd rather take the chance of my friend playing for the wires, not like the warranty helps;) , as opposed to trying nothing and buying a new set.

So, just wondering, anyone having/had this issue?

Lol, didn't notice what the mood was set to....kind of funny. :)

I haven't got Rock Band, cause it's damn expensive. See that $80? double that, and that's how much the drums cost here.

I don't know how to fix it. I just wanted to moan about how expensive it is here :(

:faint: Wow, just the drums?! I'm afraid to ask about the special version..... I certainly would not have it either if it cost that much here....

That's okay; nothing wrong with venting about prices. :) I was going to ask how much certain other items cost, but I guess its just double the price here for the majority of it. Actually that just made me think about a customer at a store I met the other day, she was bickering about the price of footwear, and then went on to say something about Canada's ripping people off price wise...I don't know, $25 for a pair of shoes, pretty standard here. Oh well. :)

I talked to my friend, he's quite sure he knows what the problem is; I described it in much detail :D . He said he'll come up on the weekend to do whatever with it; warranty gone, I figure anything he does is better than going out and buying a new one, which after going through the forums, I'm quite questionable on if a second one would be worth it anyways. So many threads of people who were on the second and third drum set....not the most reassuring thing...but we'll try stuff on this one; he's quite sure its just a broken sensor or loose wiring.

Won't know till we try. Not like the warranty can be voided. :)

Everything is way more expensive in the UK. We get royally ripped off. I'd like to emigrate one day I think, as much as I love London. Is just way too expensive. For the price I pay for a little one bedroom flat, I could get a whole 3 bed house with a driveway and garden up north. Just... dont wan't to live up north. Is full of northerners :D

Was away for a couple of days; would've replied sooner, but couldn't think of much to say. :o

That sucks about the expensive-ness; some stuff is way too much here. :o

Speaking of properties, its kind of like that here; living downtown is pretty expensive, the rent may be high, but everything's included for the most part. The outskirts are cheaper, but by the time transportation and everything else is payed for, pretty much paying the same amount, and then you're much further away from everything. :D I'm sure you'll find a balance between the "northerners" and a nice property. Has to be a balance there somewhere. ;)

P.S. My friend did manage to fix the drums, simple wire issue. For how easy they break, they're apparently (in his words) easy to fix. ;)

Cool, good thing you didn't have to fork out for a new drum thingy.
:iconcrystal-ice47:
True, but I wonder how many people went out and bought a new set when they came across that issue? Some people on that forum were on their third set....so much money...

In fact, that money has bought some new betta fish for my apartment.

Better fish? Lol didn't know ou can get rubbish fish. I want to get some parrot cichlids. I call them happy fish, cause they are ALWAYS smiling. It's very cute
:iconcrystal-ice47:
Lol, Betta fish, or otherwise known as Siamese Fighting fish, or Japanese FF more often called; Pets Unlimited had Siamese on the containers, so I'll go with that. ;)

There's someone on Kijiji selling three parrot fish; aww, they're adorable. :aww:

I love the middle pic of them. :D

Oooh fighting fish. They're pretty!

Lol those parrot fish are good. There's a pet shop near where my mum lives, they have all different colour ones. I want to get four or five, all different colours. Would be cool! They're sociable too, they often come over to the edge of the tank when you're there. Probably expecting food though.
